ANNOUNCEMENT OF RETIREMENT U.S. BANKRUPTCY JUDGE COLLEEN A. BROWN

The United States Courts for the District of Vermont announces that the Honorable Colleen A. Brown will retire from the bench on February 2, 2022. Judge Brown has served as the bankruptcy judge in Vermont since April of 2000. In addition to her caseload, Judge Brown has served on the First Circuit Appellate Panel, on the Bankruptcy Judges Advisory Group, as chair of the District of Vermont Federal-State Council, and as chair of several committees of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Prior to her appointment, Judge Brown was a partner in the law firm of Lawrence, Werner, Kesselring, Swartout & Brown in Rochester, New York, where her practice focused on representing both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy matters, and had also clerked for Chief Judge Beryl McGuire, and served as the Assistant U.S. Trustee, in the Western District of New York.
