New York, August 12, 2025—Chief Judge Debra Ann Livingston of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit announced today that the Court of Appeals will appoint Alejandro B. Fernandez as the Federal Public Defender for the District of Vermont. Chief Judge Livingston stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Fernandez to the District of Vermont Federal Public Defender’s Office. Mr. Fernandez’s extensive criminal defense experience, demonstrated commitment to indigent criminal defense, and highly regarded leadership skills make him an ideal defender to lead this excellent Office.”
